Motorhead Hair D`Zyne was created on the 25th July 2003

The name Motorhead Hair D`Zyne; as you may have known from the Gallery pictures came from my dad Robbie Allen who has always been a fan of the English band Motorhead's artwork. In the gallery you will find pictures of my dad's corvette which has the very same number plate as this website :motahd: That classique vehicle is an icon for the salon and for my dad's love of Motorhead's art form.

I started my interest in hairdressing when I was very young living in New Zealand. Moving to Australia in January 1991, I then started my learning experience in the field by going to TAFE and studying, as well as working as a junior in a Salon named STYLZ in Bondi Junction later being transferred within the same company to the Hurstville branch. while at STYLZ I worked my way up to 2IC then managing but opted for 2IC so I could attend to my clients being the manager restricted my being able to be on the floor hairdressing. I undertook training with the apprentices and loved my job because it was challenging everyday.

Starting in STYLZ was the best decision that I made as it was my stepping stone to where I am today. I was taught about customer care, high standards in the workplace and work ethics that I hold dearly to me. My experience at that salon taught me skills and techniques I use today. STYLZ is a very motivating company and alot of my aspects of hair dressing and training managing today, I have stylz to thank for so credit goes to them. Thank you dearly to John & Debbie.

We had Australia Wide awards nights annually and 4 years straight I brought home Hairdresser of the year awards, retailer of the year, senior of the year awards and many more also winning all our instore competitions & awards. I thrived on becoming the best I could and performing to my finest quality for my clients.

Working at STYLZ 10 years later I moved on to another salon still located in Hurstville and always welcomed my clients that followed me over the years. Thank you for your loyalty and friendship. After being at the new company in Hurstville not being satisfied I figured as I had come from a top notch salon STYLZ and going to another salon I aimed high but I was alone in my hopes for higher quality client care after managing it for 3 years and knowing every aspect of managing I decided that it was time for me to own my own salon so I can give my clients the service that I like to impose upon people.

I purchased the location I am at today 32 Ormonde Parade, Hurstville on the 25th July 2003 with my father, Robbie Allen who supported my decisions and helped me overcome certain obstacles therefore naming it Motorhead Hair D'Zyne of which my dad called it. makes it even more special. My creative sister Lois Allen manages and comes up with all the ideas that we have for the salon for eg. this website that are you looking at now and the many newsletters she designs for our readers. All my clients to me have a history, present and future and I believe building great relationships with our clients & making them feel welcome therefore treating them as part of my family.

Having my own salon is wonderful as I have the freedom to oblige the 5A service I feel my clients should have. I am constantly thinking of new and innovative ways to better the salon and make you, my clients feel welcome. We run Raffles, Have Newsletters, informative signs, competitions and great discounts as well as our referral system and special occasions concessions. I find it very important the base of any business I believe is to work as a team because without a team you cannot go forward on your own. We also have our great range of Tea's, Coffee's, Hot chocolates and cold drinks menu as complimentary in the salon.
